Safer Streets Now!

1 of 6 traffic deaths is a pedestrian or bicyclist and the number is rising here and abroad.  Traffic crashes AKA "accidents" have become a top health problem worldwide. You can support safer streets for kids and adults!

Contact Congress today to ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 3494 / S. 1708, which requires the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) and state DOTs to work towards reducing bicyclist and pedestrian deaths.  Take Action Here.

Oat Hill Mine

After our summit of Mt. St. Helena we refueled and I headed to Oat Hill Mine Road, an old wagon route and a fabled rocky ride.

CA by Bike

California by Bike Summit was great, though I only got to catch the last day.

Gwen and I represented investment in youth. Kids are traffic too!

Here Leah Shahum starts the conversation about the failure of police to properly investigate traffic fatalities to a standing room crowd.

The bottom line is an acceptance that sober traffic fatalities are simply "accidents" and a clear psychological preference to defend drivers.

Carquinez Regional Shoreline

Today Heather and I rode Carquinez Regional Shoreline in Martinez.

On the grassy hills we saw hawks, a coyote, and Mt. Diablo in the distance.

We rode right by the home of John Muir and stopped at this new mural.
